Dr. Yubin Zhou has received an NIGMS R35 award to study how cells control calcium signals at membrane contact sites—basic biology that underpins growth, stress response, and communication inside living cells.

Dr. Praveen Rajendran of IBT at Texas A&M University, in collaboration with Dr. Roderick Dashwood and Dr. Eduardo Vilar-Sanchez, will investigate low-dose drug combinations to prevent colitis-associated colorectal cancer.

Dr. Thomas A. Kent, Welch Chair professor at IBT, has been named to the 2026 Texas Super Doctors list and reports Legacy Hall of Fame status for 15 consecutive years—clinical recognition for a physician-scientist rooted in research.

Dr. Kenneth S. Ramos, executive director of the Institute of Biosciences and Technology (IBT) at Texas A&M University and director of the Center for Genomic and Precision Medicine, has received the University's highest faculty honor.

Led by Dr. Suzanne Tomlinson-Mathis, PhD, MBA, director of innovation and entrepreneurship at IBT, a Drug Discovery Today feature highlights Dr. Peter Davies, Dr. Clifford Stephan, and Dr. Margie Moczygemba and the IDDD Core Network, which has supported more than 750 projects and helped launch more than 60 startups.

In partnership with Wave Neuroscience, IBT investigators led a multisite clinical trial supporting FDA clearance of MeRT, the first personalized, biomarker-guided neuromodulation system cleared for post-traumatic stress disorder.
