Facilities & Space
Building Access
The Institute of Biosciences and Technology (IBT) Alkek Building, located at 2121 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030, is a badge-access controlled facility.
- There is an onsite manned security desk at the lobby entrance for entry assistance when needed.
Hours of Operation: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. For after-hours access assistance, contact security-houston@tamu.edu or 713-677-7464.
Card Access & Keys: Visit the IBT Security Desk in the lobby of the Alkek Building at 2121 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030, for:
- First-time badge requests that originated as part of your onboarding process.
- Replacement badges (and to inactivate your original badge).
- Physical keys—contact your center administrator.
TMC3 Collaborative Building: Badge access is handled separately. Please contact your center administrator with your request and a headshot.

Facilities Services
Shipping and Receiving
- Receiving Dock hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Closed daily from 12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Closed on all Texas A&M University Health Science Center holidays.
- Small shipments are held at the Security Desk. The Security Officer will call or email when your package is ready for pickup.
- All other shipments are received at the dock during standard dock hours. Packages are delivered as soon as possible. Priority and perishable shipments receive first delivery.
- If you do not receive an expected package, first contact the vendor. If the vendor confirms successful delivery to the Alkek Building, call the Facilities office at (713) 677-7768 for assistance.
Parking Information
Parking is not authorized within the semi-circle fire lane at the main entrance of the IBT Alkek Building. If a visitor requires special assistance with parking, please contact the individual you are visiting for guidance.
The following parking options are available:
- The surface Faculty Lot next to the IBT Alkek Building facing Pressler is card access only.
- TMC Visitor Parking, including Garage 8, is located directly across the street from the IBT Alkek Building — TMC Visitor Parking.

- Texas A&M University ENMED Building location, 1020 W. Holcombe Blvd., approximately two blocks walking distance from the IBT Alkek Building.
- TMC Shuttle Services
- Metrorail Red Line or the 002, 010, and 027 bus lines.
