Research Interests
I am investigating the role of RGL-1/RalGEF in cell migrations during development. Deletion of RGL-1 alone causes no obvious migration defects, but in a sensitized background dramatically enhances migration defects. By tagging canal-associated neurons, I am scoring the effects that RGL-1 has in different backgrounds to determine whether RalGEF is Ral-independent or -dependent, and thus whether RGL-1 plays a linear or scaffolding role in the Ras pathway.
