Biography
Goeun Bae graduated from Konkuk University, South Korea in 2006 with a B.S in Animal Biotechnology with a minor in English and continue to obtain her MS in Biomedical Science in 2008. She joined the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), a nonprofit organization as a Research Assistant in 2009 working on Influenza A(H1N1). In 2010, she joined the Institute Pasteur Korea, also a nonprofit international organization focusing on the area of tuberculosis and HIV-1 research. From there, she embarked on her career in high throughput screening working with fully automated robotic platforms located in BSL-2+ and BSL-3 laboratories. She enjoyed working among a global community of scientists and it encouraged her to move to Houston along with her husband to explore and advance their scientific career.
In 2012, Goeun joined Texas A&M Institute of Biosciences and Technology (IBT) as a Research Associate and now a Senior Research Associate working on cancer related project from biochemical to imaging endpoint on various cell models in both 2D and 3D. She spent the last few years working with 3D and organoids models and had successfully developed and optimized these models for high throughput screening.
